It was a difficult final day for women but Danielle Kang prevailed to win LPGA Classic marathon. The weather was harsh and scores rose with the dropping temperatures. Bogeys were easy to find. Lopez and Korda combined made four bogeys. Kang, however, showed off a plethora of short-game shots, making birdies on holes nine and eleven.

The LPGA Classic Marathon was hard work. Kang's win came after Lydia Ko double bogeyed his final hole. Ko was five strokes behind after six holes. Danielle Kang rallied with a birdie on the 13th and 14th holes to win by one stroke. Kang had to score par on the final two holes in order for Kang to claim the victory.

Danielle Kang (a six-time LPGA champion) has revealed that she has a tumor in her spine. After she returned from Hawaii, doctors discovered that the tumor had been found. The news was announced in April. Despite the news, she is committed to playing at the US Women's Open this weekend. In the meantime she is waiting for test results to determine if her cancer is benign or malignant.


Kang has been suffering from back pain for several months due to the cancerous growth that was found in her spine. She's undergoing extensive tests and waiting to hear whether the tumor is benign or malignant. She has already withdrawn her from the Lotte Championship, and the Palos Verde Championship. Her tournament plans are not yet clear. Next week, she'll be subject to further testing.
