La Roja's performance against the USA
La Roja was astonished by their performance against the United States. The U.S. WNT was unbeaten in eight competitive matches and had never conceded a goal. They outscored their opponents 44-0. Despite the United States' excellent goal-scoring record the Spaniards seem stronger. They are a dangerous team, and can put pressure on the inexperienced U.S. goalkeeper and back line. La Roja was frustrated with their two last goals, both scored in the second half by Megan Rapinoe.

Their formation against South Africa

With the exception of some good efforts by Amanda Mthandi (and Kgatlana), the attacking midfielders from Spain were responsible for all the goals.

In the Sevens series, they also wore greens and blacks.
