Looking for inspiration for your next sporting event? There are plenty of great female athletes to watch in 2016. There are many choices, whether you are into running marathons or the Olympics. These are four inspiring women athletes to look at if you want to see more stories about women's achievements.

Serena Williams transcends gender

Serena Williams is one of the most dominant women's tennis players of all time. She's also one the most well-rounded athletes in any sports. She is strong and feminine, yet she has the ability to be both feminine and strong. She is a force to be reckoned with. But how did this woman achieve such a status?

Williams's success transcended the sport she played and helped women achieve their greatest potential. She broke down barriers, overcame racism and inspired a new generation of female players. Her husband even wore a T-shirt with an image of her and the message that women's equality matters.

Natasha Hastings is the fastest woman in the world

The Olympic sprint champion and Natasha Hastings are both from the United States. She was going to get married soon and would retire from track & field to start a family. A series of unanticipated events changed her plans. While her life was turning upside down, she was still able to focus on family and compete in her final Olympics.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Natasha Hastings specializes in the 400-meter event, as well as the 4x400-meter relay. She studied Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina. She won the 400-meter indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships.

Jessica Ennis-Hill is one of the best overall athletes in Britain

Jessica Ennis-Hill is the world and Olympic champion in the heptathlon and one of Britain's most decorated athletes. Vinnie and Alison have the eldest children, Vinnie Ennis-Hill, 28, from Sheffield. Carmel, her younger sibling, is also her. She was an early athlete and was soon on the radar for Olympic coaches.

Jessica Ennis Hill went to Highfield High School and Dore High Schools in Sheffield. After graduating, she studied psychology at the University of Sheffield. She was almost paralysed by anxiety before competitions. Despite this, her degree was completed and she became one the most successful modern athletes in Britain. She trained for over 10,000 hours in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. She would then perform plyometric drills on a Sheffield park. After more than a full year of preparation she won the final event, which was a track & field event.

Simone Biles was the only female athlete to do this feat

Simone Biles started gymnastics at a very young age and has shown promise ever since. She never imagined winning an Olympic medal. All she wanted was a college scholarship. It was hard work and determination that paid off. She had already qualified for the elite sport level four times before she turned 14. She is now the only female to win three consecutive world all-around titles in a single calendar year.

Although she was a star pupil at Bannon's Gymnastix as a child, Biles was diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder at a very young age. Nellie Biles, her mother, was a strong advocate for her daughter. She taught her how to concentrate and how to set goals.
