Xiao Long
Xiao Long tries hard to use his striking against Quinonez, but he fails. His body kicks and low kicks aren't enough to stop Quinonez. He takes a jab to the nose and a right crossing. The next round sees Xiao attempt a single leg strike or a spinning attack. But his opponent blocks both. The fight ends at the judges' table.
Xiao Long is a bantamweight who fights for Xindu Martial Arts in Shanxi province, China. He recently won two straight fights for WLF and won a championship bout in March. He hopes to improve on the two wins he had at the Contender Series. Long will have to face Kirghiz Kemuaili Maimaitituoheti as a challenge. Long was supposed compete in last year's Contender Series but was not able to. Xiao fought Yi Zha and Kirghiz fought Buhuoyouga.
Albert Cheng
Albert Cheng is a Shanghai-native and one of the most prominent stars of the Chinese MMA scene. Chinese are known for their aggressive style and fighting. The recent TUF China competition only increased their abilities. Cheng was ranked number two in the division by the media, and his record of 5-1 is unsurpassable. Many are still curious how Cheng managed to keep pace with the rest.
Cheng had a successful UFC debut, defeating Wesley Ranger in Round 1. He then continued competing in smaller MMA organisations until he was selected to the TUF China Finale. He beat Ranger in the fourth round by Submission. Cheng was scheduled to face Anying Wang in the UFC on March 1, 2014. He was then stopped by a doctor.
Fu Ziyi
Fu Ziyi (Team Sky Dragons) and Tiequan Zizh (Team Sky Dragons) arrive early to start training. The coaches arrive with their gear and explain the UFC to the Chinese community. The preliminary training matches are where the fighters test their skills and weaknesses. This determines who will be fighting in the finals. Team Sky Dragons is led by Tiequan Zhang and Team Flying Lions is led by Wu Qize. To decide who will face which team, they flip a coin.
Wu Qize's opponent, Wang Sai, was defeated by submission in the second round. Wu Qize also spoke highly of Wang Sai's "warrior heart" and "learning."
Kirghiz Keremuaili Maimaitituoheti
Kirghiz Khamuaili will debut in the UFC on October 1, when the Mongolian will take part in Dana White's Contender Series. The Shanxi, China featherweight is on a six-fight winning streak. He is just coming off a victory over Buren Wuliji, a former UFC veteran. He has been a winner twice for ONE Championship, twice in the ONE Hero Series. He has also fought against some top featherweights worldwide and has had mixed results with international competition.
