The United States broadcasts the game and millions of viewers view it every year. This game is a must watch for basketball fans and one of the most watched sports events in the world.
Sylvia Fowles
Sylvia Fowles was honored to be a selection in the WNBA All Star Game. Her final season in the league is underway and she is averaging 14.9 point, 9.2 rebound, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per match. Her team, the Minnesota Lynx, is currently 8-15 and 2.5 games out of the playoffs.
Fowles (a former LSU star) dunk during a second quarter breakaway opportunity. Fowles was able press Team Stewart's ballhandler for a turnover, then stole the ball from Team Stewart and slammed in the ball. Team Wilson finished the game with seven point and nine rebounds.
Sue Bird
Sue Bird, a Chicago Bulls' guard, has been elected co-captain on the WNBA All-Star Team. Breanna Steward and Sylvia Fowles are also joining her. All three will be playing in the final WNBA seasons. The game will take place at Wintrust Arena, Chicago on Sunday, July 10. It will also be televised live on ABC.

Sue Bird was selected to play in the eighth All-Star Game, and Sylvia Fowles for the 13th. During the first half of the game, Fowles got the crowd going with her breakaway dunk. Sue Bird was recognized by the crowd and Fowles was given a standing ovation.
Arike Ogunbowale
Arike Ogunbowale was a two-time NCAA Champion and has now been named her first WNBA All-Star. She was the league's top scorer last season, and she is currently eighth in points per match for the Dallas Wings. She is expected be a key part of Team USA’s preparations for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game on July 9-10. The Saturday night event has special events added by the WNBA. This includes a skills competition, and a three person contest. Ogunbowale wants to be a part in the next All-Star game. Team USA won the previous All-Star match.
Kelsey Plum
Kelsey Plum of the Aces scored 30 points against Team Stewart during her debut WNBA All Star Game. Despite her diminutive stature, Plum was crowned the WNBA All Star Game MVP. Her MVP trophy, however was dwarfed only by the All-Star MVP trophy from the NBA's Kobe Bryant. Cathy Engelbert (WNBA commissioner) brought some humor and presented Plum a new trophy.
Plum claimed she was trying to win the MVP award. She set an All-Star record by scoring 12 field goals and taking 18 shots during the game. At the moment, she averages 19.9 points per match. She is currently playing in the WNBA All Star Game and representing the United States at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 3x3 basketball.

Arike Ogunbowale won the MVP award
Arike Ogunbowale won the MVP award in the WNBA all star game. The guard from Dallas played college basketball at Notre Dame. She was the fifth overall selection in the WNBA Draft. Vanessa Bryant her mother was a supporter of the player. Her family voted, so the award for her is special.
The 2021 WNBA ALL-STAR GAME saw many changes but it still remains an all stars event. Ogunbowale, who beat Team USA in the matchup 93-85, was the lone WNBA participant to win MVP honors. Ogunbowale also has the chance to do the same feat again in two years since she was named a reserve for the 2022 WNBA all-star game. The game will be played in Chicago and will air on ABC.
