
Hima Das, an Assam Sprinter holds the Indian National Record for the 400m. Her time was 50.7 seconds. She is the daughter of a farmer and showed natural running talent at a very early age. Her high school instructor encouraged her to focus on sprinting. For her achievements in sprinting, she was awarded the Arjuna Award by the President India.

Usha began her career in athletics as a junior when she was 14 years old. In 1974, her school won the title of champion. She was later awarded four gold medals at Quilon's National School Meet. She also broke two records at Nagpur, India in 1979. After a successful running career, Usha attended Providence College in Calicut as well as Mercy College in Palghat. O. M. Nambiar was her athletic coach and she gave her the opportunity of participating in sports events.

Former World No. Priyanka Goswami was a former World No.1 woman's tennis athlete. She is an avid runner who also loves to watch athletics. Before that, she was an avid gymnast and ran the 800m, 1500m. But, she decided to switch to running after speaking with a coach. After completing her training, she began competing in road races. She is the current Indian national record holder for the 10,000m and 20km distances.
Goswami was just a child when she first became interested in athletics. She was fascinated by the medal winners' bags, which inspired her to pursue a career in sports. At the Tokyo Olympics, she won her first international medal.

In 2016, she reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and in 2012, she reached the first round of the Olympic Games in London. She is a strong force in Indian archery and has won many medals around the world.
Kumari has been competing in international competitions since she was a teenager. Kumari was already ranked No.1 in the World at 15 years old and had won two Commonwealth Games gold medals. Then in 2016, she tied the world record for women's recurve and tied the World No. 1 women's archery team. She became a household name in Indian archery due to her success. She was presented with the Padma Shri award and Arjuna Award by the Government of India.
