
LPGA Tour has many awards for women's players. Players are also rewarded for their performance, including Player of the Year. Each top-10 finish awards a player a certain number of points. Points are doubled at major championships and the Tour Championship. 30 points for first-place equals 12 points for second. Another point is awarded for a third-place finish, while a fourth-place finish gives a player four points. An eighth-place player receives three extra points. For eighth place, players who finish in the ninth spot earn two points. Vare Trophy, named after the player scoring the lowest for the season, is another award.
Louise Suggs was founded
Louise Suggs, one of the thirteen founding members of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, died at the age of 91. She was a pioneer of women's sport and was instrumental to the creation in 1950 of the LPGA Tour. She is a member of the LPGA Hall of Fame and the World Golf Hall of Fame. Suggs has won at most one LPGA tournament for thirteen consecutive years. She also has 61 LPGA titles to her name.

Louise Suggs became the first Chinese player to participate in the LPGA Tour.
Louise Suggs, a Georgia native, won the U.S. Women's Open by 14 strokes in 1949. It was the largest margin in the history of the event's history. As a teenager, Suggs won the U.S Women's Amateur in 1949 and the British Women's Open in 1949. Bob Hope, a comic who became a prominent LPGA member, nicknamed her "the Great Distance Girl".
Annika Sorenstam is the most recent winner of an LPGA Tour event
Annika Sorenstam started the 2008 LPGA season before most. She won the SBS Open Hawaii and the Michelob ULTRA Open, her 70th career triumph. In the meantime she won the Stanford Pro-Am as well as the Michelob ULTRA Open. She has now reached $22 million in earnings. Despite all her accomplishments she is warm and approachable.
The LPGA is affiliated with Women's Senior Golf Tour.
The Women's Senior Golf Tour is a golf tournament series for seniors organized by Jane Blalock's JBC Marketing. Although it is not owned by the LPGA, the tour is affiliated with it and since 2006, it has held a season-ending championship. LPGA also has participated in Legends Tour events. LPGA has events for younger women, in addition to its Legends Tour.

The LPGA Tour has partnered up with Dow in order to create a digital hub called "Celebrating Green" that will help combat climate change and promote responsible environmental behavior. The hub provides information on LPGA initiatives and highlights the company's commitment to sustainable operations and climate action. LPGA will also offer OnCourse(r), sustainability software for its tournaments in partnership with Dow.
