She has been named FIFA World Playerof the Year six times and five of those consecutively. Marta is now the most prolific goal scorer ever in the history and evolution of the sport. Marta, despite her extraordinary achievement, continues to be controversial and is subject to many controversies.


Homare Sawa

Former Japanese professional footballer Homare Sawa became one of the most feared midfielders in history with a career that spanned nearly two decades. Sawa, who was born on 6 September 1978, played at a variety of positions for the Japan national team. In fact, she is considered one of the greatest female footballers ever, having earned 205 caps. Sawa was a player for the Nippon TV Beleza as well as the INAC Kobe Leonessa. This earned her local fame.
